FAQs

1. How can I join?

You need to click on the “register” button that’s on the top right-hand corner of page, after that just fill-in the needed information.  To complete the registration you must accept Hitsbook’s terms and conditions as well as the privacy policy and, for security reasons, write the security characters (captcha) in the blank field below it just as they appear and click “send.” You will then be sent an email to the provided email address with an activation link, click it and your profile will be activated and ready to use.  It is important that you complete your profile and upload a photo of yourself so that it will be all done.

You can also see how in this video tutorial.

2. How do I upload a video?

You can find out how in our blog

3. Can I upload any video?

Hitsbook is a site dedicated to finding and promoting emerging talent.  All videos uploaded will go through a screening process and will be reviewed by our team to ensure that they comply with the terms of use and that they are quality content.  The Hitsbook team rejects any video that fails to comply with these conditions.  All videos must be between 5 seconds and 5 minutes long and be no larger than 200Mb.

4.  Can I upload music tracks without images?

Since Hitsbook is a video-sharing site, it is necessary that all videos uploaded are of an audiovisual nature.  You can upload your tracks with a fixed image if you haven’t recorded yourself yet, although the best thing would be that it is a moving video in which the Hitsbook community can see you.

5.  Once I have uploaded my videos onto Hitsbook, what’s next?

If the videos are approved they will be found under your user account.  Anyone who searches your username or the title of your videos will be able to view, rate, and comment them as well as follow your Hitsbook activity.  If you have uploaded a profile photo you can opt to possibly become the ´Talent of the Day´ (see question 9).

6.  What can I expect from having my videos on Hitsbook?

-  To expose your talent.  This way thousands of users, artist like you, will know what you can do and just how well you do it.

-  Have your skills be easier to find by uploading them to a talent-oriented site rather than a general video page. This way your video will be in the right place and category.

-  To establish connections with other users, find new contacts, and expand your possibilities within the talent community.

-  Possibly get businesses, institutions, talent-hunters, etc. that are part of Hitsbook to support you.  In other words, be in the scope where talent-seekers are looking.

7.  What does Hitsbook gain from all this?

To spread talent and be a global reference for the 3.0 video platform.

8.  How many videos can I upload?

You can upload an unlimited number of videos.  Remember, this is a free service, so don’t be shy; the more videos you have, the more possibilities there are of your talent being discovered.

9.  How can I be the “Talent of the Day”?

Show that you’re involved in the Hitsbook community: upload videos, interact in our social network pages, comment on other videos, follow other users, and of course, show us your skills and you’ll be showcased as the Hitsbook Talent of the Day for the entire day.

10.  How can I categorize my videos correctly?

Categorizing correctly will help your video be found when videos like yours are being searched.  It’s important to always add key words to your videos when categorizing.  Key words are separated by commas, for example: talent, music, Hitsbook, Michael Jackson, live concert, etc…

Some suggestions:

Add your name, the name of the song (if applicable), your profession or artistic career, and words such as: famous, contest, talent, casting, and the name of the contest in which you would like to be a part of, if any.  With tags like these you help search results be in your favor.

11.  Can I share a video on other sites (social networks, blogs, etc.) and increase the number of views?

Underneath each video there is a red, “more” button in which you will find a code next to the “Insert” tag, you may copy and paste this to share where ever you like, you can even embed it in your blog.  The views will add up just as if it was being seen on Hitsbook.

To share the video in social networks or through email, you can simply use the buttons that appear on the video window or copy and paste the URL which can be found in the address bar.  You may also click on the “share” button.

12.  What does it mean to be a Dubious Talent?

If your video doesn’t quite show your abilities, but it demonstrates your effort, the Hitsbook team will classify it as a “Dubious Talent.”  These are placed in a different category.

Not only that, but your video can be placed in the Dubious Talent category if a certain number of Hitsbook users rate it as such.  If this happens, the video will be automatically categorized in this section (after revision from the Hitsbook team).

13.  Can dubious talent videos stop being so?

They can stop being dubious talents if they receive a certain predetermined number of votes.  The users are the ones that ultimately choose if they like or dislike what you do.
